Level 1 Divination (Cleric, Ranger)

Casting Time: 1 minute or Ritual

Range: Touch

Component: V, S

Duration: Instantaneous

You touch the corpse of a creature that has died within the last year while casting this spell. When the casting is complete, you immediately learn the cause of its death. This spell reveals the cause of death, even if such a cause has been concealed by illusory magic or other misleading physical wounds. This spell reveals the cause of death, but not the circumstances surrounding the death. For example, this spell can determine that a creature was poisoned and identify the type of poison used, but cannot reveal when the poison was ingested or who was responsible for its delivery.
