Trade Winds
6th-level Transmutation
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: unlimited
Components: V, S, M (the feather of an albatross)
Duration: 8 days
Classes: Druid As the verbal component of the spell, you name a destination on the same plane of existence, causing a strong easterly wind to pick up the direction of your outstretched hand. This current of wind forms a 50-foot-wide, 50-foot-tall line that stretches from the space in which you cast the spell to the destination you named. You can mentally shape this line in any way you wish, so long as it forms one continuous path along the ground. If you are unfamiliar with the route to the destination, or if you do not specify another shape, the line forms the most direct route to the destination. The named destination must be a place (it cannot be an object or a creature), but you need not be familiar with the destination or know its exact location to cast this spell. The winds last for the duration, or until you dismiss them as an action. This spell causes the following effects.
- Vehicles have their speed doubled while traveling within the line of the trade winds.
- Creatures with a fly speed have their speed doubled while traveling within the line of the trade winds.
- The trade winds disperse nonmagical storms, fog, smoke, clouds, and other gases. This spell even dispels such effects created by magic (such as cloudkill, call lightning, or stinking cloud), provided they are created by a spell of 5th level or lower.
