Updraft

Evocation Cantrip

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: 30 feet

Components: S

Duration: Instantaneous

Classes: Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard A sudden updraft of air blasts from beneath a creature you can see within range. If the target is Large or smaller, it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be launched 10 feet straight into the air. If the target does not have a flying speed, it then plummets back downward, taking 1d6 bludgeoning damage as it strikes the ground.

If the target collides with a solid surface (such as a ceiling) on the way up, it takes this damage twice: once when impacting the ceiling, and then again when falling back to the ground.

The height to which the target is launched by this spell increases to 20 feet when you reach 5th level (2d6 falling damage), 30 feet when you reach 11th level (3d6 falling damage), and 40 feet when you reach 17th level (4d6 falling damage).
