Harpoon

This barbed spear is attached to a length of braided cable and can be loaded into a ballista as ammunition. It deals the same damage as a standard ballista bolt (3d10 piercing), but its range is limited to the length of its cable (120 feet). In addition to taking its damage, a target hit with the harpoon is also grappled (escape DC 15). If the target is a ship, a member of the crew can attempt to end this grapple with their action if they are within 5 feet of the harpoon.

Reel. The creature that fired the harpoon can use its action to reel in the harpoon back to the ballista that fired it. A target grappled by the harpoon must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pulled 25 feet in a straight line toward the ballista that fired it. On a successful saving throw, the harpoon is dislodged and the grapple ends.
